Academia-Industry Collaboration

IAITI brings together the academic community and the industry to discuss the latest developments in immersive technology and potential interdisciplinary collaborations, attracting scholars and industry practitioners from around the globe.

VR, AR, XR, Metaverse Technologies

With the growing application of AR, VR, XR and Metaverse technologies, as well as other emergent techs such as AI, Big Data, IoT, 5G, Digital Twin and Blockchain, a comprehensive understanding of their implications and potential impact is needed. IAITI aspires to act as a facilitator for the advancement and understanding of these technologies, encouraging its members and beyond to present, discuss, collaborate and strive.

Established International Body

Having started off as a small community with interests in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality, IAITI has grown rapidly and is now a well established international body.

Our Project


Major Projects in the XR Industries


Extended Reality (XR) signifies the employment of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and other technologies such as haptic technology. 

XR is expected to serve as a catalyst in building a more human-centered content ecosystem.

History

2015-2017


UK Centric


•Established a research network through Manchester Metropolitan University’s (UK) AR/VR Hub


•Hosted 1st, 2nd, and 3rd International  AR/VR Conferences in Manchester, UK (MMU)


•The 4th International AR/VR Conference was attended by the UK Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and was also linked to the Department of International Trade (DIT) (more than 30 Korean startups participated)


2018-2019


Network Expansion to Europe 



•The 5th International  AR/VR Conference was held in Munich, Germany


•The 6th International AR/VR conferences was held online due to COVID-19 (2020-2021)


•The 7th International XR Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal

2020-2024 

-Establishment of IAITI

Global Network Organization



•The 8th International XR-Metaverse Conference was held in Las Vegas, USA


•The 9th International XR-Metaverse Conference will be held in Busan, South Korea
